Laser Brown Spot and Redness Removal

Laser brown spot and redness removal is a simple treatment with little downtime that improves the look of brown/age spots, facial spider veins, broken capillaries, Rosacea, and general redness. We use a non ablative laser which specifically targets red and brown coloring without visibly wounding the skin.

Commonly Treated Areas

Face, neck and chest are the most commonly treated areas at Loftus Total Skin Care, but other areas such as the hands, arms, legs, or back can be treated as well.

How to Prepare

Stop any use of retinol or glycolic products and reduce sun exposure a week prior to your appointment. Your skin cannot be tan for this procedure.

What to Expect During Treatment

After placing protective shields over your eyes, your clinician will use a hand piece against the surface of the skin to target the treatment area. Many of our patients tell us that the discomfort is minimal, comparing it to the snapping of a rubber band against the skin.

Recovery

For brown spot removal, the treated areas will scab and look like a cigarette burn for 1-2 weeks. Do not pick at these scabs as this will cause scarring. You will need to keep the treated areas moist with Bacitracin ointment for 7 days. For general redness and facial vein treatments, you may experience some minor swelling for several hours after the treatment that may last up to several days. You may apply ice to the treated areas and take Ibuprofen to help reduce any swelling that occurs. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and tanning beds after any laser treatment. We will provide you with specific aftercare instructions after your procedure to help guide you through this process.

Typical Candidate

Most people are candidates for laser treatments, except those with darker skin types.
